The African community in Toronto, Ontario on 29th May, 2010 organised a dinner in honour of the new Toronto Deputy Chief of Police, Mr Peter Sloly.

The event was organised by Broad African Resource Center (BARC) in partnership with African Canadian Social Development Council (ACSD), African Community Networking Association (ACNA). Also sponsoring the event were the Nigerian Canadian Association (NCA), CYDMS (Somali youth) and the entire African community.

The event was held at the Days Inn Hotel, 1677 Wilson Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. It featured speaches, cultural dances, dinner and the presentation of awards to Bill Blair, Toronto Police Chief, Deputy Chief Keith Ford and Deputy Chief Peter Sloly.

In attendance at the event was Maria Augimeri, City of Toronto Councillor for York Centre - Ward 9.
